Associate Emma Katz to Co-Chair Professional Development Session for Canadian Bar Association

On June 16, 2022, Emma Katz, Associate at the Kelly D. Jordan Family Law Firm will be co-chairing a professional development session for the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) with Ilana Arje-Goldenthal of Frodis Family Law.

The program, titled Mastering Marriage Contracts & Cohabitation Agreements: Practical Insights and Creative Drafting Solutions runs from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (ET). During the session, speakers from family law firms across Ontario will discuss best practices and practical insights to navigate the complicated financial and emotional issues that can arise when creating marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements.

Presentations during the four-hour session will cover common situations and considerations lawyers face when working with clients to draft marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements. Topics include scenarios for property division, setting and managing client expectations, second marriages and estate planning, and specific issues that arise for cohabitation agreements.

Registration is open to CBA members, non-members and CBA students.
