Ellen Weiss [she/her]

Ellen is an Associate at Kelly D. Jordan Family Law. Her practice covers all aspects of family law, including domestic contracts, parenting disputes, support, property claims, and divorce.

Ellen graduated from the dual Law and Master of Social Work program at the University of Toronto and was called to the bar in 2024. Before joining the firm, Ellen was a summer and articling student at the Ministry of Attorney General Office of the Children’s Lawer where she worked on behalf of children in child protection, family law and wills & estates matters. Prior to her legal studies, Ellen completed a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Psychology and Biology at the University of Guelph.

During law school, Ellen was a volunteer in the family law division of Downtown Legal Services, the student legal clinic at the University of Toronto, and worked there during her first summer. Ellen also completed practicum placements with Covenant House, a youth homeless shelter in Toronto, and the Office of the Chief Coroner’s Child and Youth Death Review Unit.

Ellen is a compassionate and diligent advocate. Her interdisciplinary educational background and experience working with vulnerable populations reflect her commitment to understanding and navigating the complexities within family dynamics. With every family being unique, Ellen strives to provide creative and client-centred solutions either through alternative dispute resolution or court intervention.

In her free time, Ellen is a passionate landscape oil painter. When she’s not immersed in her art, Ellen enjoys exploring used bookstores and searching for the best chocolate chip cookie recipes.
