Melissa Richa's Bio
Melissa has exclusively focused her practice on the areas of family law since her call to the Bar in 2018. Prior to joining the team, she worked at a prominent family law firm in downtown Toronto. She has obtained positive outcomes for her clients through collaborative processes, including negotiations and mediations, however when necessary, has successfully advocated for clients in courts and arbitrations.
Melissa graduated from Queen’s University Faculty of Law in 2017. While in law school, she worked at the Queen’s Family Law Clinic and the Queen’s Legal Aid Clinic, helping low-income residents and students in the community through a wide range of legal issues.
Melissa holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Guelph, where she also completed a minor in Hispanic Studies. She draws on her background in psychology and her understanding of human behaviour to support clients in navigating the emotions of their separation while staying focused on achieving their desired legal outcomes.
As a second generation Canadian born in Montreal, Melissa is fluent in French and Lebanese Arabic. She also speaks Spanish conversationally and takes every opportunity she can to practice her languages.
